Work with professionals
Alleyway Capital is an investment firm founded by a team of reputed investors, business operators and technology entrepreneurs. We are ecstatic about small digital businesses and are not chasing the most popular unicorn or the next big public company.
We almost always take a controlling stake in the businesses we buy and usually purchase them outright. We like software-as-a-service (SaaS) businesses, but occasionally also consider other types of tech-enabled businesses.
Our acquisition process is always transparent, respectful and leads to a quick outcome for all parties involved. We are not beholden to external investors and do not look to flip the businesses we buy.
MEET THE TEAM
Mahesh Balakrishnan
Active angel investor and advisor to startups in the fintech and real estate space. Was Managing Director in Oaktree Capital’s flagship Opportunities Funds until 2019. Served on several public and private company boards. B.A. in Economics (Cum Laude) from Yale University.
Sunny Singh
Former President of Tech Coast Angels (Los Angeles). Founded and sold an IT and cybersecurity business in 2020. Was on the founding team of a medtech startup until 2015. Ph.D. / M.S. in Electrical Engg. from UCLA and B.S. Computer Science / M.S. Information Technology from Indian Institute of Technology (Kharagpur).

Real customers and revenue. 3+ years old. Growing but not at venture speed or scale.
Subscription Model
SaaS without a large managed services component. Marketplaces. Content sites.
Bootstrapped or Venture Backed
Founders looking for their next chapter and wanting to hand over the reins or partner with a good steward for their business.
